I'm afraid we're on a slippery slope here. I commented on the other related issue: https://github.com/w3c/csswg-drafts/issues/13527#issuecomment-3928512609. I think that comment might apply to this one also - I don't feel like rounded or sharp corners affects either the recognizability or the usability of the select.
