@kbrilla I agree that this should be an option. However, I did not see that as an option neither in popper.js (https://popper.js.org/docs/v2/modifiers/flip/) or Floating UI (https://floating-ui.com/docs/flip). Both behave like Safari by default. If I missed this option, and if you have a link to an example that behaves like Chrome, it would be great to have a link to it! @tabatkins I think both the survey and the default behavior of existing libraries show that the behavior that was implemented in Safari is what many authors expect.
