Sometimes? Not sure if you have noticed that CSS Position is a Working Draft, it's not a Recommendation yet.

The CSS Snapshot 2024 classifies it as a ["module with rough interoperability"](https://drafts.csswg.org/css-2024/#rough-interop)

> Although the following modules have been widely deployed with [rough interoperability](https://drafts.csswg.org/css-2024/#rough-interoperability), their details are not fully worked out or sufficiently well-specified and they need more testing and bugfixing. We hope to incorporate them into the [official definition of CSS](https://drafts.csswg.org/css-2024/#css-official) in a future snapshot.
