IanBellomy has just created a new issue for https://github.com/w3c/csswg-drafts: == [css-view-transitions] Integration with drag-and-drop API's preview image? == It'd be helpful to be able to include a drag-and-drop preview image in a view transition. This could make it very easy to achieve common but (as best know) otherwise impossible drop-response idioms like animating dropped content to a final resting location and appearance, animating the content to a 'trash can' as a default response to dropped outside a valid drop target, or controlling the way dragged content moves back to its original location if the drag and drop operation is canceled.
