The CSS Working Group just discussed ``[css-overflow-4] subgrid obviates the need for `scrollbar-gutter: force` ``, and agreed to the following: * `RESOLVED: Drop scrollbar-gutter: force` <details><summary>The full IRC log of that discussion</summary> <Frances> Florian: scrollbar-gutter: force value would be the same gutter in an element that doesn't scroll at all. A scroller and right next to the scroller a toolbar of some kind. If you have a scrollbar or a gutter that consumes space to the right, the same amount of space could visually line things up.<br> <astearns> +1 to removing the value<br> <Frances> Florian: grid and sub grid are good at aligning things to take into account the width, we can drop this property.<br> <bkardell_> I support closing an issue / removing an ask (for the record)<br> <Frances> Rossen: Any objections?<br> <Frances> PROPOSAL: Drop scrollbar-gutter: force<br> <Frances> RESOLVED: Drop scrollbar-gutter: force<br> </details> -- GitHub Notification of comment by css-meeting-bot Please view or discuss this issue at https://github.com/w3c/csswg-drafts/issues/9815#issuecomment-1933159521 using your GitHub account -- Sent via github-notify-ml as configured in https://github.com/w3c/github-notify-ml-config
