A while back I ran a poll ([Twitter](https://twitter.com/bramus/status/1726671464366211293), [Mastodon](https://front-end.social/@bramus/111444544751532812)) asking authors what is missing from View Transitions. Out of the 33 replies, 6 requested this feature, making it the number 1 request _(along with [scoped transitions](https://github.com/w3c/csswg-drafts/issues/9890) and [auto v-t-name generation](https://github.com/w3c/csswg-drafts/issues/8320))_ Also leaving a note here that many folks call this "interruptible transitions". That term might give the wrong impression though, as some interpret this as being able to stop (and skip forward) a transition. During an internal conversation @tdresser called this "retargetable transitions", which is a term I quite like for this. -- GitHub Notification of comment by bramus Please view or discuss this issue at https://github.com/w3c/csswg-drafts/issues/8687#issuecomment-1927177649 using your GitHub account -- Sent via github-notify-ml as configured in https://github.com/w3c/github-notify-ml-config
