>What I'm saying is that you are trying to define, given two margins M1, M2 and an element E, whether M1 and M2 collapse through E. I don’t understand your point. I’m defining the collapse of E itself (case a), where M1 and M2 are the margins of E, as well as cases (b) and (c) where M1 and M2 are external to E. >But the definition is more like, given an element E, we say that margins can collapse through E if the top (block-start) and bottom (block-end) margins of E are adjoining. This doesn’t define collapse of adjoining top (block-start) and bottom (block-end) margins of E itself as being what is termed "collapse through." -- GitHub Notification of comment by gitspeaks Please view or discuss this issue at https://github.com/w3c/csswg-drafts/issues/11306#issuecomment-2511621533 using your GitHub account -- Sent via github-notify-ml as configured in https://github.com/w3c/github-notify-ml-config
