What I'm saying is that you are trying to define, given two margins M1, M2 and an element E, whether M1 and M2 collapse through E. But the definition is more like, given an element E, we say that margins can collapse through E if the top (block-start) and bottom (block-end) margins of E are adjoining. You can then plug in the definition of adjoining and over-complicate things as much as you want, but it's not useful. -- GitHub Notification of comment by Loirooriol Please view or discuss this issue at https://github.com/w3c/csswg-drafts/issues/11306#issuecomment-2511573210 using your GitHub account -- Sent via github-notify-ml as configured in https://github.com/w3c/github-notify-ml-config
