Thanks for the summary, I like option (3). Just to clarify, `.box { ... }` would also target pseudo-elements. Since we're treating this like regular DOM element classes.

One other point with this option, we can make it generic if we later on have a `CSSPseudoElement` IDL so authors can add classes to pseudo-elements in script. Then VT pseudo-elements will start with a set of classes which can be modified in script.
