It's worth calling out, if it hasn't been already, that Figma, by far the most popular tool for web design, lets you control the corner smoothing, but then it's extremely difficult for developers to match the Figma design. <img width="504" alt="Screenshot 2023-07-05 at 09 55 00" src="https://github.com/w3c/csswg-drafts/assets/29547922/25e3a32d-59dd-4f66-9c3f-3ca5b3fb7deb"> Someone created a [React component](https://github.com/pie6k/react-ios-corners) to a achieve border smoothing. This is a [Twitter thread](https://twitter.com/pie6k/status/1671993047003938818) about squircle has 412 likes and 68 bookmarks. It's clearly a popular design option.
