Case 1 was discussed in #7874 with the resolution that if an element's contents are being skipped then its descendants can not participate in a view transition. The discussion is captured [here](https://github.com/w3c/csswg-drafts/issues/7874#issuecomment-1309141936). So this issue is limited to case 2. Sounds like we're in agreement that c-v: auto elements in this case will become relevant to the user. @vmpstr are you ok with limiting relevance to "if it is painted into self or an ancestor's snapshot".
