According to https://github.com/w3c/csswg-drafts/issues/7380#issuecomment-1159125937, a function can be "directly" defined as a terminal, therefore an alternative definition could be `[ <string> | content( [ text | before | after | first-letter | marker ]? ) | contents | <image> | <counter> | <quote> | <target> | <leader()> ]+`
