You'd be in the active phase as well as one or more named phases specific to that timeline. Don't think it's particularly inconsistent to call those phases. I'm still not stoked about overloading the term "phase" here -- it seems like a different layering, at least if it's something mutable. It seems like "cue" or something like that would be better for the mutable property?
