@smfr The spec originally reflected your original proposal (#3299) quite closely. IIRC, we ended up deciding to fold the "auto-darkening" part into FCM, since that was doing essentially the same thing, and trying to slice hairs on what sort of forced adjustments were "color-scheme" and which were FCM didn't seem particularly useful. Then, without forced adjustment happening, the interaction of user and author preferences and how that changed when `only` was missing or present ended up really over-complicated, so we chopped it down to the model the spec has today. Do you still feel that FCM isn't appropriate to model auto-darkening? If so, could you explain in more detail? And are the details of what auto-darkening does different from what FCM is specified to do? -- GitHub Notification of comment by tabatkins Please view or discuss this issue at https://github.com/w3c/csswg-drafts/issues/5089#issuecomment-844299730 using your GitHub account -- Sent via github-notify-ml as configured in https://github.com/w3c/github-notify-ml-config
