Re: [csswg-drafts] [css-ruby] Overhanging and auto-hiding (#1908)

Neither JLREQ nor Simple Ruby seem to have much to say either about words like 振り仮名 with kana in the middle, or like <ruby>温<rt>あたた</ruby>める which have a single kanji, possibly with a long ruby annotation, followed by hiragana.

I wonder if they're expected to get a jukugo-like treatment, with the annotations overhanging other bases within the same ruby container, or if maintaining strict isolation is preferred.

A strict reading of Simple ruby would lead you to think that maintaining strict isolation is desired, but all the examples of "don't overhang over neighboring text" have separate words as the neighboring text, and so it might be different when the neighboring kana are actually part of the same word.
