Thanks @alisonmaher for the analysis, it certainly took some time to dig through these issues!

I agree that sometimes preserving raw colors is needed when the color itself is part of the information (like 2 and 3) or when the color scheme requires a level of granularity not available to system colors (like 1). I also agree that this is why `forced-color-adjust: none` exists; all the use cases above fit that use case very well.

I am not personally aware of cases where `forced-color-adjust: none` is not desirable but arbitrary colors would be.
