Ah, it was a side comment, looks like it didn't get minuted; Chris was referring to [Brad Kemper's comment about black()](https://github.com/w3c/csswg-drafts/issues/4621#issuecomment-570827891), suggesting that it was in fact an intuition about K, which would be slightly off for a Lab-based function just like an rgb intuition would be.
