Full stack engineer here, throwing in my support for CSS4, and ongoing versioning of CSS that bundles modules together into easily identifiable units. Being able to see "Edge, Chrome and Firefox all support CSS4.3, I'm safe to use that now" is conceptually easier than checking for support for each individual module.
