The WG [decided](http://www.w3.org/2014/09/08-css-irc#T08-02-24) several years ago that non-zero margins/borders/padding *should* interrupt shaping at inline boundaries; the fact that Firefox currently applies shaping across these is simply a [Gecko bug](https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1064172) and we should fix it. (I thought I had an experimental patch for this somewhere, even; maybe I can resurrect it.) -- GitHub Notification of comment by jfkthame Please view or discuss this issue at https://github.com/w3c/csswg-drafts/issues/698#issuecomment-444332649 using your GitHub account
