The QualityLink<https://quality-link.eu/> project aims to create an open, reliable and scalable ecosystem for quality data on micro-credentials and other courses. Reliable data makes credentials understandable and can be used in VCs issued to learners. The project proposes a technical architecture that allows higher education institutions and other education providers to expose basic data on their micro-credentials, study programmes and other courses using interoperable standards.


The draft technical specifications<https://quality-link.eu/technical-specs/> developed by QualityLink cover course identifiers, data source discovery and data exchange. The architecture builds on the European Learning Model (ELM)<https://europa.eu/europass/elm-browser/index.html> and extends it by a specific application profile and additional properties. QualityLink additionally supports data sources following OOAPI<https://openonderwijsapi.nl/#/>, Edu-API<https://www.1edtech.org/standards/edu-api> or OCCAPI<https://occapi.uni-foundation.eu/> standards.


During the coming months, the project consortium will pilot aggregation of data into a Europe-wide dataset. Before the next steps, there is a window of opportunity for the wider VC community to get engaged and reflect how this could best be done and used to make education credentials better understandable and recognised.
