Hey, At the CCG call this week we proposed exploring a number of alternative meeting formats. Our aim in proposing this is to find different ways we can facilitate dialog, encourage participation and build shared understanding within and across our community. Formats we are exploring: - Debates - Happy hour / mixer with breakout rooms - Educational series (e.g. IIW style 101 sessions) - Your ideas welcome … The reality is, these will only happen if we get buy in from the community. - Are these formats worth exploring, or do you have concerns? - Are there topics you would like to see in a particular format? - Are there topics you could help coordinate/teach/lead etc? - How regularly would you like to see these different formats on the calendar? - Is anyone willing to volunteer to support the chairs making any of these different formats possible? We have a full calendar up to the start of July currently. It would be good to commit and block out the calendar for these different formats as soon as possible, otherwise they will get taken up. For me, I am most interested in a casual mixer style meeting that uses breakouts to get people in the community chatting to each other. I think this would be good to schedule once or twice a year. I could also help run some educational sessions, e.g. Data Integrity 101, but I would like to hear what people in the community would like to learn about. I also think some of our existing meetings already fit into this category, e.g. Greg talking about BBS. If you have any ideas or suggestions we would love to hear from you. Thanks, Will & CCG Chairs
