Hey Manu,

Over at the Nostr CG, we're considering registering a did:nostr method:

Nostr already has a well-established PKI using Schnorr signatures and
64-character hex keys, plus a URI scheme that's widely adopted. It could
make sense to formally register did:nostr to provide a more uniform
interface, similar to did:key. There's been some initial brainstorming
around this, and folks like Block have discussed it too.

Stats are a bit tricky to pin down, as Nostr’s just a key pair system, but
over the last four years, up to 35M users have engaged with it, and around
50K weekly active users continue, with support from names like Jack Dorsey
and Edward Snowden. For more details, the regular stats are here (though
the site might be under a spam attack right now).

We haven’t registered did:nostr yet, but it feels like a matter of time and
group consensus.
