My understanding is that your link is in principle the correct one, but something still needs to be set up at W3C to make it work:
https://www.w3.org/TR/did-spec-registries/methods/


In the meantime, you can temporarily use this one:
https://w3c.github.io/did-extensions/methods/

And the old source, https://www.w3.org/TR/2021/NOTE-did-spec-registries-20210409/#did-methods, gives a “This version is outdated!” notice and points to the above.

Anyone know where the authoritative source lives today?
