RE: Notice of posting: Request for Information (RFI) for GC Issue and Verify - New Closing date of December 20th, 2024

Following up on the previous notice of posting for the Issuing and Verifying Digital Credentials Request for Information (RFI), the closing date was extended to December 20th, 2024, to give more time for responses and to allow for the information session that is being planned.

Please also use the following link for the RFI and related updates: Issuing and Verifying Digital Credentials (IVDC) - Tender Notice | CanadaBuys<https://canadabuys.canada.ca/en/tender-opportunities/tender-notice/ssc-24-00028088t> (https://canadabuys.canada.ca/en/tender-opportunities/tender-notice/ssc-24-00028088t). The link in the previous email was for a duplicate notice that isn't being updated.

Please also note that the Region of Opportunity is meant to be "World", as the web page currently indicates incorrectly that it is just "Canada". We welcome participation in the process by both Canadian and non-Canadian companies. The Region(s) of delivery will continue to remain "Canada".

Notice of posting: Request for Information (RFI) for GC Issue and Verify

Learn how your company can contribute to the delivery of seamless, secure services to people in Canada.

Digital credentials are the equivalent of traditional physical credentials and enable users to digitally prove things about themselves online and in person through a digital wallet. The Government of Canada is working to establish digital credentials as a foundational pillar for delivering modern digital services, enabling people to interact voluntarily with them with trust, speed, and security.

The Canadian Digital Service (CDS) is establishing GC Issue and Verify to enable departments to issue, verify, and revoke digital credentials; and enable their external and internal clients and stakeholders to hold, share, and verify the digital credentials they issue.

To support this work, on October 28, the Government of Canada issued a Request for Information (RFI) to gather information on prospective components for the target state GC Issue and Verify platform,<https://canadabuys.canada.ca/en/tender-opportunities/tender-notice/cb-504-79821275> including issuing and verifying service components, holder components (e.g., digital wallet), and digital trust registry components. This will be used to inform the planned future Request for Proposal for the components that are expected to form the target state solution for GC Issue and Verify.

The RFI will be open until November 25, 2024. CDS will be holding an information session in the coming weeks to introduce the project and outline expectations.
