RE: ITU...SG 17 Technical Report DIVS

Information flow works both ways, maybe they don’t know what other people are up to.  A ITU-T TR is a snapshot of what the industry is doing it does not set direction/architecture/etc. So this is an information gathering effort. The scope is set by the proposer and the WG.

Hi folks, 

 I am writing because I learned <https://datatracker.ietf.org/liaison/1903/>  that ITU Study Group 17 has approved the creation of a new work item on Technical Report, TR.divs: Rationale and initial approach of decentralized identity verification system (DIVS) based on verifiable data

 I'm curious if they have reached out to us or any of the other W3C formal working groups that touch on decentralized identity.  Based on the attached document it does not seem so. 
 Does anyone have any insight into this?
