A speculation, but perhaps people like myself who were, some years past, relying on scanning the (human-made) text transcriptions to get a quick overview, have gone through the following recent sequence:

1. Robot overlords transcriptions, full of word and punctuation errors as they are, became torture to try to understand on their own.

2. Short transcriptions occasionally appeared.

3. This was received with a sigh of relief, since the torture was much shorter.
