5. Main Topic: *Welcome Ildiko - new Co-Chair of VC EDU*

*Join us in welcoming Ildiko! We will let her introduce herself again and
share a bit about what she has been working on - which we expect will
resonate as an outstanding contribution to the task force. *

As a reminder, here is a bit more about Idiko's "why":

*My interest and involvement in digital credentialing projects started in
2014, when I was involved in the European Erasmus+ programme funded Open
Badge Network project. Since then, I participated in half a dozen other
European and international projects in the thematic areas of learning data
standardisation and digital credentials. My main professional focus since
2019 has been the development of the European Learning Model (ELM), and the
European Digital Credentials for Learning (EDC) Infrastructure, and as
Project Manager (since the second half of 2022), I did not only support the
adoption and upscaling of the model’s use, but I also represented this
flagship European Commission initiative at conferences
(e.g. Micro-Credentials Summit
<https://microcredentials.eu/micro-credentials-summit-2023/> and OEB
<https://oeb.global/>, to name a couple), webinars, consultations, and
various collaboration activities targeting standard interoperability.*

*The reason why I am interested in the co-chair position is that I would
like to take a more active role in the progression of joint efforts in this
domain, as well as strengthen the representation of Europe in the
Community. I expect that, would I be chosen for the role, I could not only
be productively engaged with the Community and its ongoing work, but also
support that work both on administrative level (via smooth running of the
weekly meetings and updating the VC-EDU website), and as an
expert contributor (to concrete work strands, as well as the overall VC-EDU
strategy for growth).*
