Announcement: CCG Co-Chair Election

This message is the formal announcement of a CCG Co-Chair election on December 19, 2023, which under our charter kicks off a two-week nomination process, from today, November 21 - December 4, 2023. Mike Prorock stepped down from his position and Kimberly stepped in to fill the remainder of his term. Thus, the open seat is a full three-year term.

Nominations

Anyone who wishes to hold a chair position must self-nominate by sending an email to the mailing list (Credentials Community Group <public-credentials@w3.org<mailto:public-credentials@w3.org>>) with the following information:


  1.  Your name and affiliation (if any)

  2.  A brief statement of background and why you would like to be chair


Nomination statements MUST be sent to the list by 11:59pm Pacific Time Zone on December 5, 2023 (https://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/converter.html?iso=20220615T065900&p1=tz_pt&p2=tz_edt&p3=tz_bst&p4=tz_cest.)


Nominations and voting are open to all current CCG members as of the election announcement as of today, November 21, 2023


On the December 5th CCG call, we will host an opportunity for the candidates to offer a brief statement, and for CCG members to ask questions of the candidates. This is not required, but will be the formal opportunity for a discussion with potential future chairs.

Voting Details

Per the 2021 charter amendment, voting will be conducted as ranked choice. Anyone who is a member of the CCG by the election announcement, today, November 21, 2023is eligible to vote. The election will be overseen by current co-chairs Kimberly Wilson Linson and Harrison Tang.

  *   Election Announce: November 21, 2023

     *   Must be an official member of CCG to vote in the election by 11/21/23

     *   Must be an official member of the CCG to self-nominate by 11/21/23

  *   Nomination period: 11/21/23 to 12/4/23 EOD PT

  *   Candidate speak at CCG meeting: 12/5/23

  *   Voting Opens: 12/19/23
