I just came across the UN Global Digital Compact <https://www.un.org/techenvoy/global-digital-compact> today and they are actively soliciting feedback/input. It seemed like I should share it and it might be worth considering what we might say for The Global Digital Compact is expected to “outline shared principles for an open, free and secure digital future for all”. The Common Agenda report suggests issues that it might cover, including digital connectivity, avoiding Internet fragmentation, providing people with options as to how their data is used, application of human rights online, and promoting a trustworthy Internet by introducing accountability criteria for discrimination and misleading content. As you prepare the consultation or begin to draft your input, consider the future of digital technologies and the continuing digital transformation. How can we best ensure an “open, free and secure digital future for all”? - What shared principles should be included in the Global Digital Compact? - Which issues should be addressed – those mentioned above in the Common Agenda report or others? - What can and should the international community do to address them? They are asking for input from folks around the world. This is a link to their submission guide: https://www.un.org/techenvoy/sites/www.un.org.techenvoy/files/Global-Digital-Compact_how-to-engage-guide.pdf
