Next Steps on CCG Co-Chair Position, was Re: Open Co-Chair Position

Dear Mike, and CCG Community,

Thank you for volunteering for the CCG co-chair role. The chairs propose
that we reactivate the previously-announced election for the 3-year chair
term, and consider Mike as the single current candidate. We will provide 1
week from Friday, June 25th, 2021, or until midnight Pacific Daylight Time
on Friday, July 1, 2021 for feedback from the community.

Per the CCG charter, if there are no additional candidates, or no
substantive objections, Mike will immediately win the seat.

We will discuss Mike's nomination on the next CCG call, on Tuesday, June
29th. This will allow Mike to introduce himself to the community and
respond to any questions.

Note: the chairs recognize that the 2- and 3-year terms may be seen as
excessive. This was originally done to allow continuity in leadership.
Efforts like CCG 101 and the infrastructure task force are expected to
reduce the need for longer terms. After this election, we'll revisit chair
term length with the community.
