European SSI experts: please apply to eSSIF-Lab infrastructure open call before 29 June

Dear W3C-CCG friends

The European Commission is making funding available (for European applicants) for the development of European SSI infrastructure via the eSSIF-Lab Infrastructure Open Call<https://essif-lab-infrastructure-oriented.fundingbox.com/>.

  *   Join the Q&A session<https://essif-lab.eu/?p=672> on the 28th May at 11:00 (CEST)
  * Study the slideset<https://ssimeetup.org/essif-lab-creating-funding-interoperable-ssi-infrastructure-europe-webinar-52/> from recent SSI Meetup
  *   Read more about eSSIF-Lab framework<https://gitlab.grnet.gr/essif-lab/essif-lab>, architecture<https://gitlab.grnet.gr/essif-lab/essif-lab/-/blob/master/essif-lab-functional-architecture.md>, and vision<https://gitlab.grnet.gr/essif-lab/essif-lab/-/blob/master/essif-lab-vision-and-purpose.md> (note: goes beyond just VC+DID).
  * All output shall be open source. It will be a big plus, if you have already developed open-source code, and want to integrate it with eSSIF-Lab
  * European experts (self-employed, SME, academic, corporate) can apply here<https://essif-lab-infrastructure-oriented.fundingbox.com/> and gain up to 155 k€ per subgrant
  *   Deadline: 29 June 2020, 13:00 CEST.

The focus of eSSIF-Lab is the “SSI Roles Layer”: Verifier, Holder, Issuer, Wallet.

Here are examples of topics for the Infrastructure Open Call. However, please surprise us with other relevant topics as well.

Tech Infra Oriented topics

·        Secure Credential Storage (wallet/hubs)

· SSI phone Apps and/or browser add-ons that work with different kinds of credentials (e.g. VCs, ABCs, …)

· Web server proxies that implement, or connect with components for the various SSI roles

· Revocation service that allows verifier to check for revocation of a credential any time after having received it

· ‘On the fly' requesting the issuance of a credential if it is asked for, but missing in the wallet

·        Cryptographically enforceable issuer policies

Best regards,

Oskar
