Hi all, We've been intending to migrate the management of the DID Method registry to the active W3C DID WG for a while now. An issue was raised a while ago to do this: https://github.com/w3c-ccg/did-method-registry/issues/82 As an Editor of both the current DID Method Registry and the DID WG Specification Registries, after discussion with the Chairs in both groups, I took the next step in that process by copying what we have now in the DID Method Registry into the DID Spec Registries document. https://w3c.github.io/did-spec-registries/#did-methods At this point, we have /two/ DID Method registries, and it is going to very quickly lead to confusion on where people should add new DID Methods. We need to wrap up the W3C CCG DID Method Registry and note that it's been subsumed into the DID Specification Registries, which is being maintained by the DID WG. The expectation is that the DID Specification Registries will continue to be maintained by the DID WG until the end of 2021, when it wraps up, and then by a W3C DID Maintenance WG OR the W3C CCG if a W3C DID Maintenance WG fails to be created. This is a request to the Chairs for some telecon time to discuss this (might happen today?).
