You cant do that. The issuer issues claims to you. You can ask the 
issuer to attach the claim to your DID, if you can PoP the DID. The DID 
is the subjectID i.e. the identifier/key to which the claims are attached.

Once I have given the claim to you (your DID), you possess it. I can 
revoke it, but I cannot alter it unless you give it back to me. (And 
even then you could still keep a copy of the original token). So what 
you are suggesting is rather bizarre and I dont think is practical.

This scenario is not updating the DID. Its attaching claims to the DID. 
That is a different thing
