I've created a new draft of the W3C Contacts API [1] based on feedback received to date. A CVS change log and diff [2] is also available. The proposal is to allow Portable Contacts parameters to be represented within the API as extensions on the recommendation that Portable Contact attributes be first defined as extensions for use within the vCard format for interoperability purposes. My hope is that [3] has a role to play in this process and that strong implementations and implementor collaboration going forward will lead the way to defining on the most effective contacts format - whether that incorporates social data (and logically the Portable Contacts schema) or not. br/ Richard [1] http://dev.w3.org/2009/dap/contacts/ (Ctrl+R/Cmd+R may be required if you don't see an Editor's Draft version) [2] http://dev.w3.org/cvsweb/2009/dap/contacts/Overview.html [3] http://tools.ietf.org/html/draft-george-vcarddav-vcard-extension-02
