Hello, I would like to propose considering "scrolling text over fixed background" for WCAG Principle 2 Operable (i.e. scrolling text in a page based on fixed background). Description: - Web page designed with a fixed background image on which content displays over can cause major discomfort and distraction for users and make them unable to navigate within the page. Scenario: - User scrolls vertically, in a page with fixed background image using the browser vertical scroll - The text scrolls over a fixed background image - User feels discomfort and not able to focus on scanning the text due to the motion ( may be related to cognitive disability?). The discomfort increases with other facts such as contrast between text and background image. WCAG 2.0 Failure: I analyse the behaviour related to WCAG 2.0 Principle 2: Operable however it does not fit into any of the current success guidelines or success criterions. (for instance It could not be related to 2.2.2 Pause, Stop, Hide or any of the 2.3 Seizures since it is not an animated or flashing content by default.) However the scrolling act makes the whole page animated and can cause the same consequences. - Related failures include WCAG 1.4.3 Contrast Thank you, Rabab Gomaa Web and Form Services | Services Web et des formulaires Information Management | Gestion de l'information Canadian Food Inspection Agency | Agence canadienne d'inspection des aliments 49 Camelot Drive, Ottawa, ON K1A 0Y9 | 49 promenade Camelot, Ottawa ON K1A 0Y9 Rabab.Gomaa@inspection.gc.ca Telephone | Téléphone 613-773-8013 Facsimile | Télécopieur 613-773-8011 Teletypewriter | Téléimprimeur 1-800-465-7735 Government of Canada | Gouvernement du Canada
