WCAG 3 coordination/Clear language: August 1st minutes + card-sort exercise to complete by July 31st

Hi, folks, here are the minutes from our July 30th subgroup meeting
<https://www.w3.org/2024/08/01-coga-minutes.html>.

*Please complete the card-sort exercise by August 15th*

   - The August 15th deadline will give Rain time to compile the results
   and look for trends before our subgroup meets again in September.
   - Lisa will schedule COGA's next set of subgroup meetings soon.

*Purpose of the card-sort exercise*

   - Help users navigate the 20 outcomes in WCAG 3's "Text and wording"
   section by clustering them into subsections.
      - The AG chairs have proposed
      <https://docs.google.com/document/d/1GL-jyZ7CuYb-fms_jTKEe1YTAUZAH0EXkU3yqbRg5f4/edit#heading=h.fonuvw2q8k6d>
10
      subsections, but some of them sound too similar to each other,
like "Clear
      language," "Clear meaning," and "Clear content."
      - Doing this card-sort exercise individually follows best practices
      for UX.
      - We will review the results together and look for trends, such as
      common and disputed subsections.
      - Ultimately, we will align on a recommended set of subsections to
      share with the AG chairs, who said they welcome our suggestions.

*Three ways to participate in the card-sort exercise *

   - UXtweak card-sort tool
   <https://study.uxtweak.com/cardsort/HoyhuymkyQAGK3CF3iM5I>
      - Use your email to log in—any email address will work.
      - Password is coga (all lowercase)
      - Drag each outcome on the left into an existing gray box on the
      right—or into a new box that you create if you want to name a new
      subsection.
      - When you finish, no other steps are needed—Rain will get alerted
      automatically.
   - Spreadsheet
   <https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1lt1QHFSiIla3EGTQU_nZFCgVL1tPUst-avXnCTk2JVg/edit?gid=332095400#gid=332095400>

      - Choose one of the tabs in the sheet that hasn't already been sorted.
      - Claim the tab by adding your name, and then follow the instructions
      on the tab to sort the outcomes.
      - If you need to make a new tab, duplicate one of the existing tabs,
      rename it, and then sort.
      - When you finish, email Julie and Rain (who are CC'ed on this
      message) so we'll know when to look at your tab.
   - Google doc
   <https://docs.google.com/document/d/1vn0rouV9Vv5dBCzbpwPk_Ixo3V0I6DmSLBSwlOabJsc/edit>
   -

      Make a copy of the document and add your name to the title of the doc.
      -

      Review the patterns listed, think about how you would categorize
      them, and then move the outcomes into those categories
      -

      When you finish, share the doc with Julie and Rain, who are CC'ed on
      this message).

*Important reminders*

   - This is a brainstorming exercise, so be creative and think "outside
   the box."
   - Feel free to use all, some, or none of the current subsections and
   come up with your own ideas.

Thanks in advance for your time, and please let Rain and me know if you run
into any issues. And many thanks again to Rain for creating three
different ways to participate in this exercise!

Have a good weekend, everybody!
