Re: [EXTERNAL] Time-sensitive: Do any COGA members want to talk about EOWG's "How People With Disabilities Use the Web"

Hi Julie,
Apologies for the delay in getting back to you. The first link you sent (https://deploy-preview-113--wai-people-use-web.netlify.app/people-use-web/<https://nam10.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fdeploy-preview-113--wai-people-use-web.netlify.app%2Fpeople-use-web%2F&data=04%7C01%7Ckakinney%40ets.org%7C943f85f6a8c74c9bc01108d9d203502c%7C0ba6e9b760b34fae92f37e6ddd9e9b65%7C0%7C0%7C637771733951141663%7CUnknown%7CTWFpbGZsb3d8eyJWIjoiMC4wLjAwMDAiLCJQIjoiV2luMzIiLCJBTiI6Ik1haWwiLCJXVCI6Mn0%3D%7C3000&sdata=XLkbaV%2FNan6%2BXliShmxuVzJm%2B3FsWz4dro9Fiq%2Be9hM%3D&reserved=0> ) is the link that has the updated stories that Kevin and his team have been working on. The second link to the WAI site is the older version of the stories, which will eventually be replaced with the stories that we are working on.

The date for any additional comments would be January 14, 2022. You can make those comments via email, Google Doc, or directly into the open issues Github space<https://github.com/w3c/wai-people-use-web/issues> for the project.

Best,
Kris Anne

Hi, Kris Anne, many thanks for your message. At yesterday's COGA taskforce meeting, we discussed asking for more time to discuss the draft as a group.

Since yesterday's meeting, I noticed there appears to be a new version of the document. Which version should the COGA team focus on right now?

  *   https://deploy-preview-113--wai-people-use-web.netlify.app/people-use-web/<https://nam10.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fdeploy-preview-113--wai-people-use-web.netlify.app%2Fpeople-use-web%2F&data=04%7C01%7Ckakinney%40ets.org%7C943f85f6a8c74c9bc01108d9d203502c%7C0ba6e9b760b34fae92f37e6ddd9e9b65%7C0%7C0%7C637771733951141663%7CUnknown%7CTWFpbGZsb3d8eyJWIjoiMC4wLjAwMDAiLCJQIjoiV2luMzIiLCJBTiI6Ik1haWwiLCJXVCI6Mn0%3D%7C3000&sdata=XLkbaV%2FNan6%2BXliShmxuVzJm%2B3FsWz4dro9Fiq%2Be9hM%3D&reserved=0>

     * This is the version that folks were asked to review in the EOWG survey that closed on Tuesday.

  *   https://www.w3.org/WAI/people-use-web/<https://nam10.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.w3.org%2FWAI%2Fpeople-use-web%2F&data=04%7C01%7Ckakinney%40ets.org%7C943f85f6a8c74c9bc01108d9d203502c%7C0ba6e9b760b34fae92f37e6ddd9e9b65%7C0%7C0%7C637771733951141663%7CUnknown%7CTWFpbGZsb3d8eyJWIjoiMC4wLjAwMDAiLCJQIjoiV2luMzIiLCJBTiI6Ik1haWwiLCJXVCI6Mn0%3D%7C3000&sdata=TBw8Rs5BJANFKzsJH8jAPIDluZgNbJORznHGXwBBHnA%3D&reserved=0>

     * I think this is a new version? Or is this an older version?
     * This version's first page is very similar to the first page in the survey version, but the subsequent pages have a lot of changes in terms of both the structure and content.
     * For example, in the survey version, Luis is a basketball fan with Down syndrome<https://nam10.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fdeploy-preview-113--wai-people-use-web.netlify.app%2Fpeople-use-web%2Fuser-stories-five%2F&data=04%7C01%7Ckakinney%40ets.org%7C943f85f6a8c74c9bc01108d9d203502c%7C0ba6e9b760b34fae92f37e6ddd9e9b65%7C0%7C0%7C637771733951141663%7CUnknown%7CTWFpbGZsb3d8eyJWIjoiMC4wLjAwMDAiLCJQIjoiV2luMzIiLCJBTiI6Ik1haWwiLCJXVCI6Mn0%3D%7C3000&sdata=TU6xLmLMqWKunZUGDpnGFvloU7T8YvJIOAn3RSpVecs%3D&reserved=0>. In this other version, Luis is a supermarket assistant with Down syndrome<https://nam10.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.w3.org%2FWAI%2Fpeople-use-web%2Fuser-stories%2F%23supermarketassistant&data=04%7C01%7Ckakinney%40ets.org%7C943f85f6a8c74c9bc01108d9d203502c%7C0ba6e9b760b34fae92f37e6ddd9e9b65%7C0%7C0%7C637771733951141663%7CUnknown%7CTWFpbGZsb3d8eyJWIjoiMC4wLjAwMDAiLCJQIjoiV2luMzIiLCJBTiI6Ik1haWwiLCJXVCI6Mn0%3D%7C3000&sdata=wHTcO9%2BWyC%2F5Tf6lPjHeKFPLXTpYKR%2F6fKOWtsK52DQ%3D&reserved=0>.
Please let us know which version we should focus on over the next week or so, thanks!

Happy New Year, everyone.

I spoke with Kevin and EO about extending the survey before the holiday break. I think Kevin wanted to keep the closing date of today so that he can work on the feedback that has already been given, and try to make a plan for moving ahead with planning for future surveys and publication. He also has things to discuss with EO that he wants to talk with them about this coming Friday.

However, that does not mean that COGA can’t still give feedback after the closing of the survey via email or a google doc. If COGA wants to have a discussion dedicated to the feedback, as long as you get it to him within the next week to week and a half, it could still be within the timeframe that he is working on edits.

Julie, I believe you’ve already given him some feedback and he was very thankful for it.

If I can help convey feedback as well, please let me know.

Thanks,
Kris Anne

Hi, folks, do any of you want to have a meeting this week to discuss this near-final EOWG document, “How People with Disabilities Use the Web<https://nam10.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fdeploy-preview-113--wai-people-use-web.netlify.app%2Fpeople-use-web%2F&data=04%7C01%7Ckakinney%40ets.org%7C943f85f6a8c74c9bc01108d9d203502c%7C0ba6e9b760b34fae92f37e6ddd9e9b65%7C0%7C0%7C637771733951141663%7CUnknown%7CTWFpbGZsb3d8eyJWIjoiMC4wLjAwMDAiLCJQIjoiV2luMzIiLCJBTiI6Ik1haWwiLCJXVCI6Mn0%3D%7C3000&sdata=XLkbaV%2FNan6%2BXliShmxuVzJm%2B3FsWz4dro9Fiq%2Be9hM%3D&reserved=0>”?

At our last COGA meeting in December, we had discussed 3 options for each COGA member to submit feedback:

  * Fill out the EOWG survey<https://nam10.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.w3.org%2F2002%2F09%2Fwbs%2F1%2FHow-People-Use-Web_2021-Dec%2F&data=04%7C01%7Ckakinney%40ets.org%7C943f85f6a8c74c9bc01108d9d203502c%7C0ba6e9b760b34fae92f37e6ddd9e9b65%7C0%7C0%7C637771733951141663%7CUnknown%7CTWFpbGZsb3d8eyJWIjoiMC4wLjAwMDAiLCJQIjoiV2luMzIiLCJBTiI6Ik1haWwiLCJXVCI6Mn0%3D%7C3000&sdata=cJdZHfrYB0EVYHYRuLfqfqaNmKu6H5OUAlMF49If1Pw%3D&reserved=0>, which closes Tuesday, January 4 at 23:59 ET, and/or
  * Add your comments to this internal COGA google doc<https://nam10.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fdocs.google.com%2Fdocument%2Fd%2F1swkJVhcw60QuLJEOFgRtNHh5SVhJYlPPH8N4XBEG3Bc%2Fedit%3Fusp%3Dsharing&data=04%7C01%7Ckakinney%40ets.org%7C943f85f6a8c74c9bc01108d9d203502c%7C0ba6e9b760b34fae92f37e6ddd9e9b65%7C0%7C0%7C637771733951141663%7CUnknown%7CTWFpbGZsb3d8eyJWIjoiMC4wLjAwMDAiLCJQIjoiV2luMzIiLCJBTiI6Ik1haWwiLCJXVCI6Mn0%3D%7C3000&sdata=8%2Ba1%2BmoannTcrvmKV6u4ZYJZMm8Ekc8fl1c%2F5lPBBhk%3D&reserved=0>, and/or
  * Attend a meeting in early January that COGA will devote to reviewing this resource

But Lisa is wondering if COGA folks still want to have a meeting about this? Or if the survey and/or google doc are adequate options for everyone to submit their feedback?

Please let us know ASAP if you want to meet to discuss the document. If so, we will ask EOWG for more time to submit our feedback as a group, thanks!
