Issue 237

Hello,

Issue 237 recommends a pattern be added for common fonts. We have added
some notes to 4.9.4 (in *bold *below)

Provide users with a way to personalize their interface to make it familiar.
This can be done by:

   1. *Allowing user preferences on presentation such as font style, font
size, line heights, margins and contrast. (Note: The default
version should
still be readable and use clear fonts.)*
      2. Allowing a rollback to a previous interface that the user is
familiar with and knows how to use.

Use:

   - Use the HTML autocomplete tags on all common fields.
      - *True text to support browser preferences for styles.*
      - Add a toolbar that adds personalized images.
      - Add the semantics that can work with a toolbar for personalized
images Examples of working pages can be found Implementations of
Semantics,
also see Getting Started with personalization semantics.

Avoid:

   - Forms that do not support HTML autocomplete.
      - *Default fonts that are not clear or readable such as a cartoon
      font or gothic. *
      - Pages that can not easily be personalized.

The draft response for approval is:

We believe this is a large and evolving topic as well as an important one.
We have added fonts to 4.9.4 Pattern: Support a Personalized and Familiar
Interface in this version and will open an issue paper on fonts and
readability for the next version so we can address it in a more
comprehensive way.

Please send edits to the list.

Thank you,

Rachael
