Re: Down syndrome techniques

Hi Debra,

Does reading level and/or vocabulary come into play?

Also you talk about keeping the main information in the top left for left
to right languages. What about rich internet applications where there are
regions of the page of importance? Today, static documents are often foun
in the middle of pages with navigation sections on the left, banners on the
top, etc. How should that be structured or accessed? Is it preferred that
things be linearized by region?

I am also reading this:

"· the message is clear
   · extraneous information is removed
   · one message is delivered at a time
   · Key points are separated out
   · Lists and bullet points are used
   · Order of statements is logical
   · Repeat important points to aid in comprehension"

Is it preferred that we use text emphasis for important points by visually
calling the text out?

Thanks,
Rich

Hope CSUN attendees have a wonderful time.  I have created the first draft
of the Down syndrome techniques. I would appreciate comments and
suggestions for improvement. Thank you, Debra
