Only 57 Companies Produced 80 Percent of Global Carbon Dioxide

Civic Technology Community Group,

Hello. I recently found these articles [1][2][3] on global carbon dioxide emissions. They indicate that only 57 companies produced 80% of global carbon dioxide between 2016 and 2022. Without this information, one might assume that carbon dioxide emissions were distributed across such a large number of companies around the world that any change for the better – solving the challenge – was impossible. With this information, it appears that addressing the global carbon dioxide emission challenge through scientific, technological, and engineering progress is both urgent and possible.

Any thoughts?

Best regards,
