I am President of Comtech Services, a consulting firm, that works with companies to implement the DITA XML standard. I am also a founding member of the OASIS DITA Technical Committee and chair the OASIS DITA Adoption Technical Committee. As Director of the Center for Information-Development Management, I am responsible for two content management conferences each year, Content Management Strategies/DITA North America in April this year in Providence, RI and Content Management Strategies/DITA Europe in November in Munich this year. We will hold a session chaired by Robin LaFontaine at the April conference to continue the discussion of change tracking standardization. My primary concern is interoperability among all XML authoring environments so that changes are not lost between tools. Robin and I inaugurated this discussion and the forming of the W3C committee at CMS/DITA NA last year.
