Alright. I am glad we are on the same page. So, I can write testable
statements for hit region bounds being set for addHitRegion, to see where
we are, but these cannot be used to gate advancement to recommendation.

For version 2.0 we can't leave a hole like this again.

Do we agree that we should create the hit region tests to see where we are,
on a11y mappings, despite the fact that they are not required?

drawFocusIfNeeded is there and it is normative.

yes, it would not be a normative test, but it will show that a particular
implementation is accessible.
Maybe we can revisit this for the level 2 spec. A11y is not something that
can be optionally implemented if you want a compliant canvas
implementation.

  So, there is nothing the spec. that says to inform the user when a hit
  region is associated with a control. It only says this for
  drawFocusIfNeeded.

  Did someone drop the ball? This was discussed on the calls. ...
  Otherwise, why would we have pushed for addHitRegion?
