Hey Browser Tools and Testing folks, My name is Simeon Vincent and I'm a co-chair of the WebExtensions Community Group[1][2] (WECG). I'm writing to kick off a conversation about how our respective groups can work together to improve support for testing browser extensions. The WECG was formed "to advance a common browser extension platform" and intend to specify "a consistent model and common core of functionality, APIs, and permissions"[3]. WebDriver integration is explicitly out of scope of our charter[4], but given our desire to improve the browser extension development experience it seems there are clear areas of overlap. Is testing for browser extensions something that this group would be interested in discussing? If so, how should we proceed? Thanks in advance for your consideration and help.
