Hi, The Mobile Web Best Practices Working Group has just released a first public working draft of a new document, called "Content Transformation Landscape": http://www.w3.org/TR/2007/WD-ct-landscape-20071025/ The document discusses issues and requirements around the use of content transformation proxies, esp. in how it applies to the Mobile Web - where the use of transformation proxies to make non-mobile friendly web sites work on mobile devices is increasingly frequent. This document, produced by the Content Transformation Task Force [1] paves the way for the work on a guidelines document on this topic [2]. Comments on the document are welcomed on public-bpwg-ct@w3.org, a publicly archived mailing list.
