Re: How to refer to Bioschemas profiles in markup

Hi Leyla,

The type of the resource is schema:CreativeWork, so that is what should be in the type statement.

In the Bioschemas Generator, we use the Dublin Core Terms conformsTo property to provide a link back from the markup to the profile that they are marked up against. This also allows you to use the version specific URL so is providing more information. So for being conformant with the DataCatalog version 0.3 we use the following statement
"dct:conformsTo": "https://bioschemas.org/profiles/DataCatalog/0.3-RELEASE-2019_07_01",

Best regards

Alasdair

Subject: How to refer to Bioschemas profiles in markup

Hi Alasdair, all,

We are working on the examples for TrainingMaterial whose official schema.org<http://schema.org> type is CreativeWork.

What type should I use in the markup? Some options are:
"@type": ["CreativeWork", "bioschemas:TrainingMaterial"] #but schema.org<http://schema.org> has no idea about bioschemas:TrainingMaterial
"@type": ["CreativeWork", "TrainingMaterial"] #but schema.org<http://schema.org> has no idea about TrainingMaterial
"@type": "CreativeWork" #but then, how would Bioschemas know this is a TrainingMaterial?

Is there anything that should be added to the context for pages using the TrainingMaterial profile so "bioschemas" namespace is valid?

Please advise.

Kind regards,
