My apologies too. I made some progress on Action 86, but haven't opened a PR yet. I agree with the proposed CfC on dezippering. I'm in favour of avoiding any special cases, and note that we don't expect people to use the default dezippering to achieve a particular effect, it's really there to prevent nasty surprises in default cases.
