Proposal re: MediaStream Processing API

RoC,

Implementing web workers with webRTC for processing is great.

but and please excuse my ignorance,
would it be possible, without requiring a browser & DOM?

The proposal is: The javascript engine should be enabled to process 
streams independently.

nb: this may apply to a rather broad range of inputs beyond a/v.

Rationale: embedded devices may have no need for a browser & the DOM,
and indeed may not be able to support them as well as javascript 
processing streams in real time.
