Hi group, The minutes of the Audio WG teleconference for 17th October 2012 are now online: http://www.w3.org/2012/10/17-audio-minutes.html We met for about an hour last week to discuss three topics: 1) Publishing FPWD of MIDI spec The group discussed some feedback to the draft Web MIDI API spec (mostly to the introduction and the security/privacy sections) and agreed that now was a good time to publish the draft as First Public Working Draft if we could get the changes mentioned within the next day or so. Draft: http://dvcs.w3.org/hg/audio/raw-file/tip/midi/specification.html Changetset: http://dvcs.w3.org/hg/audio/rev/f4727ce84474 Call for Consensus (FPWD): http://lists.w3.org/Archives/Public/public-audio/2012OctDec/0163.html 2) Web Audio API: Channel handling / naming We talked for a while about the question of channel layouts, which is being monitored in https://www.w3.org/Bugs/Public/show_bug.cgi?id=17396 and https://www.w3.org/Bugs/Public/show_bug.cgi?id=17379 Consensus seems to be converging towards: - We should add a channel layout (readonly) attribute - There will be, for the time being, a limited set of values for that attribute (mono, stereo, quad, 5,1 and another for "unknown" or "undefined"). We can extend that in the future. - The notion of channel layout only applies to destination nodes. The rest of the graph can continue handling many more channels. 3) Reminding members to rejoin Audio WG With the rechartering of the group, every formal group member needs to re-join. Olivier will contact AC reps to make sure that happens before the end of the grace period. -- Olivier
