Dear WAI Interest Group,
The Authoring Tools Accessibility Guidelines (ATAG) Community Group (CG) <https://www.w3.org/community/atag/> at W3C will hold its first online meeting on 21 November 2025.
About ATAG
Authoring tools are software and services that 'authors' (developers, designers, writers) use to produce web content. Content management systems (CMS), learning management systems (LMS), and no-code website builders are examples of authoring tools.
ATAG addresses two aspects of accessibility:
* Tools are accessible to content authors with disabilities
* Tools enable, support, and promote the production of accessibility content
Learn more from the Authoring Tool Accessibility Guidelines (ATAG) Overview <https://www.w3.org/WAI/standards-guidelines/atag/>
ATAG CG exploring ATAG update
The ATAG CG will focus on:
* Updating ATAG for the next generation of authoring tools
* Updating ATAG in alignment with WCAG 2 and WCAG 3 development
* Addressing the role of AI in authoring tools
