Dear Advisory Committee representative,
[This announcement will be forwarded to W3C group chairs]

The Accessible Rich Internet Applications (ARIA) Working Group charter
[1] is hereby extended until 2024-07-31.

The group needs some time to handle the impact of the ongoing transition
from manual testing to automated testing through WPT on some
deliverables (for example DPub-ARIA, DPUB-AAM, and Accname), as well as
to adapt to the changes of key participation in the group and the
transition of WAI staff and roles.

The mission of the Accessible Rich Internet Applications Working Group
is to enhance the accessibility of web content through the development
of supplemental attributes, including roles, states, and other
properties, that can be applied to native host language elements and
exposed via platform accessibility APIs.

More information about the ARIA Working Group can be found on its
summary page [2], including information about group Chairs, Team Contact
and instructions for joining the group.

If you have any questions or need further information, please contact
Daniel Montalvo, Accessibility Specialist, at dmontalvo@w3.org.

This charter extension follows section 4.5 of the W3C Process Document:
https://www.w3.org/2023/Process-20231103/#charter-extension

Thank you,

For Philippe Le Hegaret, W3C Strategy and Project Lead,
Daniel Montalvo, ARIA Working Group Team Contact;
